Volunteers will lead a gentle functional fitness program designed for community members aged 55+.
- The purpose of the program is to:
- Increase and maintain strength, coordination, balance and flexibility
- Improve health and energy
- Improve mobility and independence
- Prevent falls and decrease falls risk
- Meet new people and socialize
Assists activity coordinator with different activities such as:
- Special events
- Outings
- Friendly visiting
- Other duties around residence
- Assisting with client:
- Social events
- Planning crafts
- Serving refreshments
- Tidy up after events
- Running art or music programs
- Assistance with organizing the set up and tear down of recreation activities
- Technology assistance for seniors
- Information or educational seminars for seniors
- Organizing tea and talk socials and word games
- On-site Volunteer at Earl Rowe Provincial Park, Alliston
- Help people with disabilities kayak and canoe
- Check paperwork, PFDs and other equipment
- If volunteer wishes to assist on water we will train canoe or kayak for a small fee, adaptive training is free Off-site Volunteer
- Help with office administration including record keeping, spreadsheets, grant writing
- Attending activities, programs, and/or events with residents
- One-on-one visits with residents; spending time chatting, playing card games, doing puzzles, crafts
- Accompanying them on walks either within the building or outdoors (weather permitting)
- Miscellaneous duties as needed
Volunteers are always needed to help with our current sports being offered: soccer, bowling, track & field, figure skating, swimming, t-ball, softball, floor hockey and golf. Please contact for information.

Whether you’re an individual, community group, or group of friends, Easter Seals is seeking energetic and dedicated people to join our team of volunteers! In partnership with the Barrie Colts, Easter Seals will be partaking in the 50/50 ticket draw program for all the Barrie Colts home games in 2023-2024
* Volunteers will work 4 hours per shift, arriving 1.5 hours in advance of game time at the Sadlon Arena
* You will help sell tickets until end of second period.
* Once the selling is finished, all volunteers are able to watch the remainder of the game in a designated area.
Volunteer as a camp counselor at one of our two sleepover sites in Waterford (Rainbow Lake) or Rosseau (Muskoka) or day camp in Toronto or Ottawa.
Volunteers act as coaches in weekly sport training sessions, working with athletes with an intellectual disability in a variety of sports. Other positions include administrative roles on community council (fundraising, secretary, public relations, etc.). If we host competitions, day-of event volunteers are also required. SOO-Barrie offers 14 Olympic-type sports.

Looking to maximize opportunities to bring in Club revenues to offset programming costs and enhance future programme, Collingwood United Soccer Club seeks a volunteer to work with its board of directors in sourcing, researching and applying for various community/sports grants available provincially/nationally. Previous is experience in an asset, however not manditory. Knowledge of Soccer and the sporting community is also an asset but not manditory. "Work" at home! ...Great opportunity for either a university student looking to understand/work/contribute in/to the non-profit sector in the future or someone retired seeking an opportunity to contribute to the community.
- Help Set up the area according to event, ie. Tables and chairs, or just chairs.
- Decorate room according to the event Ask staff what can be done.
- Knock on each resident’s door and invite them to the program.
- Help bring residents to area
- Help if needed for resident drinks and or snacks
- Support resident(s) to designated area. Take attendance and give to program staff.

All ages and experience levels welcomed. Main activities:
- Walking, lots of walking in indoor 60'x120' (20x40m) arena or outdoor (30 x 70m) or wooded trails...up to 2kms/hour
- Grooming and getting horses ready, we will train on this
- Leading or walking with a horse with rider onboard, we will train for this
- Working with riders on the autism spectrum or with a physical disability
- Mostly early evening hours; some daytime hours may be available
- 2 hour commitment
Collingwood United Soccer Club is seeking a member for its Board of Directors in the role of Treasurer. Familiarity with the soccer community is an asset; however not necessarily required. Critical requirements include bookkeeping experience and sound knowledge of Simply Accounting. This is a community service role with much responsiblity as it keeps the club running smoothly and enables us to offer cost-effective, quality adult and youth soccer programming. ...An ideal role for a someone retired, or as a sideline to assist a community non-profit organization.
