We need volunteers to assist at our Cycle For Hope fundraiser, we have a number of volunteer positions that need to be filled: 

Volunteer Roles: 

1. Set-up and tear down

Role Duties

  • Help set up the event site
  • Put up tables, tents and banners
  • Clean up and put everything away once the ride is complete 

2. Registration

Role Duties

  • Welcome and register the rider
  • Provide rider with appropriate wristband and instruct them to place it on and that it will be used as their lunch voucher after their ride.

3. Route Directions/Nutrition Station

Role Duties:

  • Ensure that riders are on the right track and making correct turns
  • As Riders approach you, either point or vocalize where they are going and cheer them on!
  • Offer fruit and waters that is available for Riders
  • When the ride is complete on your way back - do a quick sweep of any riders along the way

 As a crisis responder you may be asked to assist the OPP or other first responders to help victims and/or families. 

Kids Help Phone, Crisis Text Line
Ontario

Kids Help Phone’s texting service is the only free, 24/7 bilingual text line for people in Canada. The service is delivered by trained, volunteer crisis responders who work remotely. 

We are recruiting overnight and or bilingual crisis responders who will answer texts from young people looking for support in both English AND French.

The volunteer position will be remote, meaning that you can participate from anywhere in Canada as long you have a strong, reliable internet connection!  

Our volunteers need to be enthusiastic about helping people!

You can be a professional, student, teacher, retiree, or anybody else with a willingness to learn how to support people over text.  

The role of a crisis responder is to bring texters from a “hot” moment to a cool calm one, and to help them come up with a plan to stay healthy and safe.

Crisis responders are trained to do this using active listening and collaborative problem-solving.

The Youth Justice Committee (YJC) bring together youth 12-17 who have been involved in the Criminal Justice System, their parent(s), and trained members of the community. Together, the youth plan and agree to make amends for their actions. This program offers youth alternative measures to the Criminal Justice System.

In this volunteer role:

* You would attend YJC meetings to determine appropriate and meaningful ways for the youth to make amends for their actions.  
* Ensure that the youth is aware of the purpose of the meeting and willing to discuss the matter. 
* Explore the perspectives of all parties, including the youth and others represented at the meeting, such as community members, community agency representatives, and the parent(s). 
* Present and agree upon appropriate and meaningful sanctions for the youth to complete in order to be successful in the program. 
* Respect the confidentiality of the youth and other YJC members throughout the process.

Must complete the Volunteer Application, submit a current resume, and submit two professional references. Attend an in-person interview with the Volunteer Coordinator and submit a Vulnerable Sector Check. 

Bridget's Bunnies Pregnancy and Infant Loss Foundation, Barrie

About Bridget’s Bunnies

Bridget’s Bunnies is a charity dedicated to supporting individuals and families through the heartbreak of pregnancy and infant loss. We provide Comfort Kits, remembrance resources, and compassionate community care, ensuring no one walks this journey alone.

Bridget’s Bunnies is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic volunteer to assist with special events throughout the year, including community events and Bridget’s Bunnies fundraising events and activities. This role involves representing Bridget’s Bunnies brands throughout the Simcoe/Muskoka region.

 

Hours: Volunteers will be expected to participate in events throughout Simcoe/Muskoka as their schedule allows

Location: Simcoe/Muskoka Region

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Represent Bridget’s Bunnies professionally and positively at community events.
  • Assist with event setup, engagement, and teardown at third-party fundraising events, street fairs, and other promotional activities.
  • Provide information about Bridget’s Bunnies to the public and be comfortable speaking about Bridget’s Bunnies' mission and values.
  • Encourage community participation and fundraising efforts.
  • Work closely with event organizers and fellow volunteers to ensure a smooth event experience.
  • Transport promotional materials and event supplies to and from event locations.

Requirements:

  • Access to and use of a personal vehicle with valid insurance. (preferred)
  • Comfortable speaking with the public and engaging with event attendees.
  • Ability to lift and carry event materials as needed.
  • Availability to attend events in the Simcoe/Muskoka region
  • Passion for supporting those affected by pregnancy or infant loss.

Muskoka Parry Sound Sexual Assault Services

Volunteers would be required to provide support to individuals on a helpline or chat service who have experienced sexual trauma, violence and or assault. A 30 hour training course and interview is to be completed before starting on the helpline and chat service.

ABOUT CATULPA COMMUNITY SUPPORT SERVICES/WHO ARE WE?

Catulpa Community Support Services is a FOCUS-accredited registered non-profit agency that has been serving children, youth, adults and families with special or unique needs since 1973. Currently extending support and services in The County of Simcoe, York Region, Durham Region and the Four Counties, Catulpa is comprised of a team of approximately 100 staff that work in collaboration with government agencies and community partners in an effort to achieve the best outcomes for all those it serves.

ROLE & TIME COMMITMENT

The Catulpa Community Support Services Board is responsible for the effective governance of the agency through oversight of strategic planning, fiscal review and determination of mission-related policy.

It is not responsible for fundraising, personnel, programs, services, curricula or budgets. Volunteer members provide special skills and knowledge (finance, law, social services, healthcare, etc.) within the Board setting.

Meetings take place virtually and/or in-person in Barrie, Ontario, six times annually for approximately three hours per meeting.  Successful Board of Director applicants are appointed for a term of three years and provided a mentor.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Lived Experience or Care Giving Role, Governance, Public Relations, Social Work/Clinical Skills
